About The Founder
Business Systems Architect | Creator of BusinessWiser™
Robert S. Livingston is a business builder, systems architect, and long-time advocate for small and mid-sized business owners who want sustainable success without chaos.
Over more than four decades, Robert has served in executive leadership and senior management roles, built and operated businesses as an entrepreneur, and—during a focused seven-year phase of his career—worked directly with manufacturing and distribution business owners through hands-on consulting and structured Advisory Circle collaboration, developing a clear point of view grounded in one simple truth:
Businesses don’t fail from lack of ambition.
They fail from lack of clarity and cash.
His life’s work has been focused on mastering the fundamentals—especially cash flow—not as an accounting exercise, but as the operating discipline that drives revenue quality, profitability, business value, and long-term wealth.
Creator of the BusinessWiser™ Ecosystem
Robert is the creator of BusinessWiser™, a five-tier ecosystem of digital booklets, diagnostic tools, frameworks, strategic cash flow analysis, and learning platforms—designed specifically for product-based SMBs in the $2.5M–$25M revenue range.
At the core of the BusinessWiser Cash Flow Mastery System are six flagship WISER™ Frameworks:
- CASHFLOwiser™ — Reveal how growth, profit, and cash actually interact
- DRIVERwiser™ — Optimize the 10 drivers that control the majority of cash flow
- FORECASTwiser™ — Bring cash visibility across annual, quarterly, and short-term horizons
- PLANwiser™ — Align strategy and execution to sustainable cash flow
- CULTUREwiser™ — Embed cash flow discipline into everyday decision-making
- VALUEwiser™ — Translate cash flow improvement into higher business valuation
Together, these frameworks embed cash flow as an operating discipline—shaping how businesses plan, operate, and grow—while delivering consultant-grade clarity without consultant dependency.
All BusinessWiser tools follow a Done-for-You / Do-It-Yourself (DFY/DIY) design philosophy, enabling owners to gain advisor-level insight using only the data they already have.
The Foundation: Four Decades in the Trenches
Robert earned his BS (Magna Cum Laude) and MBA from the University of Southern California, but his real education came from decades of hands-on leadership.
His career includes senior roles at Mobil Oil, Mattel Toys, and PepsiCo, followed by executive positions as CFO, Managing Director, President, and CEO across small and mid-sized businesses ranging from $3 million to over $100 million in revenue.
He has led across every major function—Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and HR—always applying a disciplined, “back-to-basics” approach to build stronger, more resilient companies.
As an entrepreneur, Robert has built and operated six businesses of his own, giving him firsthand insight into the pressure, tradeoffs, and responsibility of ownership. His experience spans industries including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, food, publishing, software, consumer products, and apparel—reinforcing his belief that sound business principles transcend industry.
Validation Through Real-World Implementation
After retiring from full-time executive leadership in 2018, Robert entered a period of consulting and structured collaboration to pressure-test his thinking.
Over several years, his methodologies were refined through:
- 50+ SMB consulting engagements
- a rotating Advisory Circle of manufacturing and wholesale business owners
- 20 active members at a time, with 100+ alumni over seven years
This work validated what he had long believed:
a small number of drivers determine most outcomes—and when cash flow is treated as an operating discipline, businesses stabilize and compound.
Both the consulting practice and Advisory Circle were intentionally phased out effective December 31, 2025, after their purpose was fulfilled. Their insights are now embedded permanently in the BusinessWiser systems.
Scaling Proven Expertise Through Human–AI Collaboration
One final challenge remained: scale.
Robert is a systems builder, not a career writer. Documenting decades of validated expertise into clear, structured, digital systems using traditional methods would have taken years.
In late 2025, he formalized a human–AI collaboration process designed for one purpose only:
To document, structure, and scale proven business expertise—
not to invent strategy.
AI is used to extract, organize, and systematize real-world decision logic that had already been tested in operating businesses. The strategies remain human-derived. The scale becomes digital.
This process allows thousands of SMB owners to access rigorously validated, consultant-grade systems that were once available only through one-on-one advisory work.
Today
Robert is the founder of C-Suite2Go® LLC, the operating company behind BusinessWiser™, and the voice behind the BusinessWiser Blog, Podcast, Video Channel, and Learning Platforms.
His mission is direct and unapologetic:
To return SMB ownership to fundamentals—
clarity over noise, systems over heroics,
and cash flow as the discipline that makes success sustainable.
Robert believes every owner deserves a business that works for them—not one they spend their life chasing.
Through BusinessWiser, he continues to publish the systems that make that possible.
